Trumpism Legacy

The dust is starting to settle, or so we think, but what lingers in the background is the fact that this “ideology” will come back again probably sooner than later.

I know I’m looking at it from the outside, but I believe that would be the best way to explain it. I don’t believe many of the republicans thought they would be caught between country and Trumpism. They probably thought they were just supporting their “president” or their candidate; however, when they didn’t say anything or voice their support for all the wrong, they became part of this “cult.”

But what is Trumpism? What happened for this ideology to raise up from the shadows? Well, the closest I can think of is to compare it to Nazism.

I would say there are different types of Trump supporters or cult members. We got the ones that are still blind to the misinformation fed by their leader and his enablers. The “keep lying until it becomes true”. We got the ones that know how bad it is but decided to stick to their leader also because of all the lies told about the other options or, and we also have the ones that are just like him and simply don’t care because their leader supports all the racism and wrong they do, and that is really enough for them. Who cares if Trump takes their money, or doesn’t do anything for them during a pandemic, they will just blindly follow him. And that is why I can only call this a cult.

I would almost be certain that in the last qualification, we will find the rest of the GOP and his rich friends that are actually enjoying the product of the last 4 years but of course there can be those that, I don’t know for what reason, would still support him.

Many people have said, now that Biden won, let’s unite and forgive; however, can we actually forgive the racism right on our face specially coming from the people that we elect?

I think it’s time to remember those people and when they want your vote, just vote for someone else. Can they hide they were another accomplice in Trump’s legacy? Just deny that they supported his words, laws, and that they actually care about you? No.

I think Trumpism is here to stay, but more than that I think is just another name for something that was already here. Their leader just gave them a voice, an important voice, and of course they don’t want to go back to hiding their true feeling and opinions because now they will be wrong again. Having Trump as their leader gave them the support they needed to show their true colors, to say that now they are right because the leader of this nation says so.

I can only hope that just like this year, every election we really pay attention to what they are saying, and we don’t elect people like Trump ever again.
